I have been practicing and studying yoga since January 2002. My practice began with curiosity, as I had heard that yoga was useful for reducing stress and quieting the mind. Over the years, it has certainly been this, and much, much more. In the summer of 2006, I enrolled in a year-long yoga teacher training program. After completing the program, I felt a strong need to share the transformative power of yoga with anyone interested in its exploration – even if they are simply curious as I once was.

In Sanskrit, yoga means yoke or union. This union includes the uniting of the mind with the body or with our own spirit. It can also mean uniting with each other and dispelling the notion that we live separate from all other beings. Through the practice of yoga, the student gradually becomes better attuned with her own body, mind, and spirit. This attunement builds confidence, strength, and suppleness of the body and mind. The challenge is that most people have somehow become so disconnected from themselves and each other that they believe they are simply a physical body hauling around a ceaselessly chattering mind! Come practice with me at The Yoga Factory and together we can begin to reconnect.
