I am married and have 4 very busy children; 3 boys 16,14,and 12 and a daughter who is 10. I am a nurse by profession and have been working with cancer patients for the 20 years since I graduated. I am currently working specifically with women/men who are diagnosed with breast cancer. I work with them from the time of their diagnosis through all their treatments providing support and education along the way.
I started practicing yoga about 4 years ago. To me it seemed to be something that came very naturally. I found myself wanting to practice and learn more. I find Ashtanga the practice I enjoy the most. It has a very natural flow and progression from one pose to the next. I can leave behind my hectic life for a temporary time and just move without having to think to much. In going through the teacher training process I find the more I learn the less I feel like I know. In yoga there is never a point where you feel like you can do everything or know everything. As soon as you think you get something down , there is either a more difficult variation or we flip it upside down and balance it on our hands. It truly is about the journey not the destination.
