Designed with heartfelt dedication by Addie-Grace Mehling, E-RYT 500, co-founder of Bright Yogis, this unique certification program seamlessly integrates yoga and movement exercises with social and emotional skill-building activities, promoting lifelong wellness habits for children and adolescents.

Participants will gain an extensive array of tools, including mindfulness practices, breathing techniques, games, and youth-friendly yoga sequences, applicable in various settings. This training equips you with the expertise to support children of diverse ages, backgrounds, and learning preferences. Whether you aim to teach formally or use your training at home, in your classroom, or beyond, you will leave with a wealth of resources to share.

Included in the training is a comprehensive manual, designed to be a treasured resource for inspiration long after graduation. By refining your skillset, embracing various methodologies and resources, and enhancing your self-confidence, you will be empowered to create enriching experiences for children and adolescents, fostering their mental and physical well-being.

This training is also a tremendous opportunity to reignite your passion for teaching or parenting. TEACHER TRAINING CURRICULUM:

This comprehensive curriculum is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to create enriching and impactful yoga experiences for children and adolescents.

 

  • Yoga Philosophy for Children: Inspire lifelong pathways of healing, self-care, and intentional living.

  • Breathwork and Mindfulness Techniques: Instruction on diaphragmatic breathing and techniques for cultivating mindfulness.

  • Creative Yoga Flows: Develop engaging yoga flows tailored for children and young adults.

  • Yoga-Inspired Activities: Games, songs, and activities designed to captivate and involve children.

  • Class Preparation and Methodology: Essential strategies for planning and conducting effective yoga classes.

  • Emotional Stability Tools: Resources designed to foster emotional stability and enhance decision-making skills in children.

  • Communication Strategies: Techniques for effective communication with children.

  • Specialized Yoga Classes: Tailoring yoga sessions for children with ADHD, Autism, trauma, and other specialized needs.

  • Business and Marketing Insights: Innovative ideas to leverage your certification in professional settings.

  • Mindfulness-Based Self-Care: Strategies to enhance personal efficacy through mindfulness and self-care practices.

  • Anatomy and Physiology of Childhood Development: This training includes a two hour Yoga Alliance accredited online course devoted to anatomy and physiology of childhood development. This online course can be completed leading up to or following our in person hours during our YTT weekend at The Yoga Factory.

  • 20hrs Yoga Alliance Continuing Education: This is a Yoga Alliance accredited course that can be applied as 20hrs of YACE.


*Please note that in order to obtain YACE hours or an official certification, this 20hr Youth Yoga Training requires 2hrs of shadowing or practice teaching outside of our in person hours to obtain valuable first hand experience within the demographic of children or teens that is most relevant for you. This can be as easy as practice teaching to your own kiddos at home or as formal as shadowing an official Youth or Teen yoga class such as a Bright Yogis class within our Fall, Winter or Spring schedule.

***If you currently work with children or teens, your place of work may be willing to cover a portion of your investment! Required documentation can be provided as needed.

About your Trainer!

Addie-Grace discovered yoga at a young age and experienced firsthand the immense benefits of these lifelong tools. Driven by a passion to share these benefits with today's young hearts, she has dedicated over a decade to teaching youth yoga across diverse demographics, settings, and roles.

Her extensive experience includes working as a youth yoga coordinator and co-founding Bright Yogis, an after-school yoga program in Columbus. Addie-Grace’s expertise and commitment make her an invaluable resource for those looking to start a youth yoga business or simply bring the many benefits of yoga to children and teens.

Oftentimes, following a Yoga Training, the path forward can feel challenging and illusive. To assist in your momentum post training, this course feeds right into Bright Yogis after school programming! Graduates will have the opportunity to join our team as a teacher or substitute right away or further down the road if the desire to do so arises.
